SustainLab Appoints Micaela Quesada Longgren as New Chief Sustainability Officer

"I believe that the integration of sustainability and modern technology will play a significant role in creating future sustainable societies," says SustainLab's new CSO.

Sustainability expert Micaela Quesada Longgren, previously the Group Sustainability Leader at Bonava, has joined SustainLab as their new Chief Sustainability Officer.

Micaela will assist SustainLab's customers and potential clients by leading projects related to sustainability data and guiding product development concerning sustainability intelligence integrated into the platform.

"I am excited, energized, and humbled to have the opportunity to work on sustainability impact in a holistic and forward-thinking manner. I believe that the integration of sustainability and modern technology will play a significant role in creating future sustainable societies. I am thrilled to be part of SustainLab's core team at an early stage, and I think we have a lot to achieve, with great ambition being the primary reason I joined the team," says Micaela Quesada Longgren.

Micaela, what is something that requires more focus in sustainability work?

"I believe there needs to be a focus on being holistic and incorporating other social and sustainability-related aspects. This means data for everyone, in a way that is accessible to everyone in the organization, and working on sustainability in an iterative manner. And it's easier when we gain insights with frequently updated data through automation. Companies should treat and regard sustainability data the same way they would financial or any other business-critical data. For example, you have a monthly budget. How much have you spent? How much have you saved? Similarly, you want to know if you are making progress in other aspects - for example, gender equality."

What do you aim to achieve in your new role?

"Measurable and tangible impact and measurable results for our customers. Here, I want to emphasize that there is room for everyone: for activists, for legal teams, for marketing departments, and so on. Our role at SustainLab is really about measuring the effects. And everyone has an impact. So, how good are the organizations using the platform? I want us to understand what data and insights our partners and customers need so that we can help them track them. I see us as a strategic part of the solution by assisting in collecting, processing, analyzing, and visualizing data. That's how we create real change."
