Sustaintech startup SustainLab enters into a partnership with Fastighets AB Regio

Wants more companies to accelerate their sustainability work

The Stockholm based startup SustainLab, which collects and analyzes companies' sustainability data automatically, is now starting a collaboration with the real estate company Fastighets AB Regio ("Regio"). As part of the collaboration, Regio will use the early version of the product to manage its sustainability data. The tests and feedback from Regio will contribute significantly to SustainLab's goal of building the leading solution for sustainability data.

SustainLab is a digital platform that helps companies collect, analyze and visualize sustainability data automatically, while at the same time guiding the user in effective sustainability work. The goal is to help companies accelerate their sustainability work with the help of modern technology, and after an intensive period of product development, they are now starting a collaboration with Regio.

Regio is a long-term property owner with a portfolio of approximately 600,000 m² of commercial premises around Sweden. The sustainability strategy is focused on minimizing the properties' negative impact on people, the environment and society and contributing to positive development through active management.

— Regio has a strong focus on sustainability and our philosophy is that all actions must be measurable to ensure that our work makes a difference. The sustainability work generates large amounts of data, which is time-consuming to handle manually. SustainLab was founded in early 2020 by Maria Svantemark and Kamal Hakimzadeh. The idea behind the company comes from Maria's previous experience as Sustainability Manager and the frustration she experienced from the lack of high-quality and frequently updated data on how the sustainability work really progressed in the business. Together with Kamal, PhD in computer science from KTH, she started to build the digital solution in spring 2020.

It is now a busy period for SustainLab as the first version of the product, which will be launched at the end of the first quarter 2021, is being finalized. At the same time, a funding round to raise capital has been initiated to further accelerate product development and strengthen competitiveness.
